I’ve stayed away from writing about Jeremiah Wright, Barak Obama’s pastor and ‘mentor’. No particular reason, he just sickens me so much, I tried to push it away. There’s been lots of evidence out there that the man is nothing but a race-baiting, America hating bigot, but I’ve left it alone. There’s been some video come out in the last 24 hours, however, that you just have to comment on.
Hot Air has a good writeup on the matter, with additional video.
“The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people,” he said in a 2003 sermon. “God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.”
In addition to damning America, he told his congregation on the Sunday after Sept. 11, 2001 that the United States had brought on al Qaeda’s attacks because of its own terrorism.
“We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye,” Rev. Wright said in a sermon on Sept. 16, 2001.
“We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost,” he told his congregation.
Jesus was black? Really? I’ve heard this garbage before, on talk radio, and seen it from some nitwits online, but the first time I’ve ever heard it preached like this. Obama ain’t rich? Really? He grew up poor? Dang, going to one of the nicest private schools in Hawaii, I want to be poor, living in Hawaii and in private school, and later going to Harvard! Sucks to be Obama, huh?During a Christmas sermon, Wright tried to compare Obama’s upbringing to Jesus at the hands of the Romans.
“Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people,” Wright said. “Hillary would never know that.”
“Hillary ain’t never been called a nigger. Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.”
In his Jan. 13 sermon, Wright said:
“Hillary is married to Bill, and Bill has been good to us. No he ain’t! Bill did us, just like he did Monica Lewinsky. He was riding dirty.”
This is your Christmas sermon?!? This is the Word of God??? Cussing in church, and using the word ‘nigger’? (As an aside, the Right Rev. Wright was one of the individuals who helped Al Sharpton to ‘bury the “n” word’ a year ago, in the aftermath of the Don Imus scandal. I guess it’s okay when you’re using it to make a point that Hillary has had a cushy life and poor ol Obama has lived in a van, down by the river) Glenn Beck had a really good point this morning. He mentioned how he literally would have died if it weren’t for the Sabbath, and the recharge it gives his soul. He doesn’t work, he spends the entire day with his family, and he goes to church to receive the Word, and refresh his soul.
This is how every church-goer I know treats church, minus of course the peacocks, who want to see and be seen. But most people are going in order to receive a message that is soothing to their soul, to help them get through their daily grind. These are not messages that are soothing, they don’t refresh, they don’t do anything but make people angry. I ask you: can you read these words, watch this video, and feel refreshed? This is a message of anger, hate, it’s a message designed to work people into a frenzy and send them from the Hallowed Ground Mad As Hell, and They Aren’t Going to Take It Any More. How very much like the Friday prayers of islam this is. Until now, I thought islam had the lock on being the only religion that had its holy day designed to send people out into the streets angry and rioting. Now, I’m not so sure.
Every Sunday, for the last twenty years, this man has been filling hate and garbage into the head of the Man Who Would Be President. Tell me that hasn’t taken. I’m not normally one to make judgements on what is in someone’s heart. That is between them and God. Matthew 7:16 says “By their fruits you will know them.” Look at this man’s fruit. His fruit is standing on a stage, behind a lectern, with a microphone every Sunday, shaping people’s minds and attitudes. His fruit is the thousands of people who have passed through his church over the years with feelings of ill will for white people, Jews, America, and anyone who isn’t doing things for them. That fruit smells rather rotten to me.
This man made a point of saying God Damn America. Jeremiah Wright has made a point of allying himself with the ‘Palestinian cause’. These are people who are to their core dedicated to the destruction of both the nation of Israel, and every Jew on the face of the Earth. The bible tells us rather clearly that the nation that turns against Israel is going to have some troubles coming its way. If the Right Reverend Wright wants God to Damn America, then he’s surely on the right track with his pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel message. We turn against Israel, and God will surely Damn America.
Many of this man’s defenders have said that he has many messages of hope, good messages for young black men, to take charge of their lives and be real men. Louis Farrakhan does as well. I’ve long thought that maybe 3/4 of Farrakhan’s message was great for young black men, and young men in general. But. But there is that little matter of Hate Whitey. Hate the Jews. Hate America. “But, so much of his message is good! Can’t you just listen and ignore the bad?”
Let’s say that I offer to make you a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Tasty, right? Lots of great morsels in them. Right before you take a bite, I tell you that in the bag of chips, I mixed in a few rabbit, er, pellets. Sure, most of the morsels are good, tasty chocolate. Do you really want to eat that cookie now, knowing that there’s some rabbit poo mixed in? That’s what this is. These messages of anger and hate are like the morsels of rabbit poo thrown into the mix that spoil the whole message. Rev. Wright comes across as very much like Farrakhan in many ways, and these videos are demonstrative of that.A Pastor is a teacher. Someone the church hires to teach them a message, and to lead them spiritually. Let’s make the comparison to a schoolteacher. Do you really want your children’s teacher to have such anger, and hate, and be filling their young skulls full of mush every day? I hope not, anyway. Now, it is happening in colleges around America, but that’s going to have to be left for another post. Think about your eight year old. A teacher. Pumping hate into her head. Your ten year old son. Being raised to go hate Whitey, America, and everything is someone elses fault. That’s what this man is doing, but not only with the children. He’s putting this into all their heads. You cannot listen to such a message year in, year out, and not have it affect your way of thinking. Sorry, can’t do it.Another point: notice the cheering and clapping the attendees are doing. They love hearing the message, they believe in the message. If they didn’t believe in the message, they would have ishtcanned the man when Bill Clinton was still using Arkansas state troopers to pick up hillbilly chicks. They. believe. his. message. One can only conclude that Barak Obama believes this mans message of hate as well. He’s been a member of this church for 20 years. He claims Wright as a mentor. He had the man baptize his girls. ADD moment: Barak, do you really want your little girls having such hate pumped into their heads? If Barak didn’t believe this message, why didn’t he leave the church? Why didn’t he speak up? He was, after all, a community leader before even joining the church. If he didn’t agree with this message, he could have easily spoken with much of the membership, found out if there was similar feeling, and if not, then left. Barak is a believer. Believe it.
Don’t believe me? Look at everyone around him. You don’t normally do guilt by association, not in a single instance. Buuuuuttt…. His wife has repeated statements about how bad America is, how she’s not been proud of America until now, other inflammatory statements, including her racially divisive senior thesis at Princeton. His staffers have Che Guevara posters on the wall, (http://dreadpundit.blogspot.com/2008/02/che-woman-is-obama-precinct-captain.html). Your pastor (and self-admitted mentor) and your wife are two of the most influential people a person can have in your life. They are true believers in this filth. The circumstantial evidence is mounting here…. There’s other evidence mounting that Barak Obama isn’t quite the clean vision of Hope and Change and Change for Hope and Chope and Hange that we’ve been led to believe, but that’s for another post, some other time.
A bit of additional circumstantial evidence that lends credence to the current discussion, however, does exist. During the National Anthem, he cups his balls and makes a point of refusing to wear an American Flag lapel pin, when even the total lefties Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and Dennis Kucinich are wearing them. It’s called America. It’s what politicians do when they want our votes, because that’s how Americans feel. We want our leaders to like America. Again, that one, in and of itself was explained by Obama, and fine enough. But when you add it to all the other circumstantial evidence… It starts to pile up and one gets a picture that Barak Obama is a True Believer in The Audacity of Hate. Just like his Preacher man.
